Let's Talk Together - AAC in Europe

Warsaw, 2011, June 30th – July 2nd

Augmentative and alternative communication has a long tradition in Europe. Some countries started to provide services to people with complex communication needs more than 30 years ago. Others joined much later. They have been constantly learning from each other.

In 1997 Hungarians invited European emerging AAC countries to attend the 1st Eastern and Central European Regional Augmentative and Alternative Communication Conference. In this way a tradition of biennial meetings was established. These conferences have encouraged participating countries to develop AAC and provided a unique opportunity for sharing ideas and providing mutual support. So far meetings were held in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Russia. The 2011 conference will be again held in Poland.

Dear AAC users, families, friends, therapists, teachers and researchers! We would like to invite you all to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to attend the 8th Eastern and Central European Regional Augmentative and Alternative Communication Conference. As the united Europe becomes more and more integrated, we hope to see representatives of all - emerging and developed - European countries. Let's talk together about AAC, share our experience and learn from one another.

    The Conference is organised under the honorary patronage of Provost of Academy of Special Education,

    With support of ISAAC.


    An international exhibition of assistive and augmentative technology devices will be held during the conference.

    • • Cancellation before May, 31, 2011 – total amount will be refund, less 50 PLN handling
    • • Cancellation after May 31, 2011 – no refund of fees.
